Impressive facts

Vent is situated at 1900 m above sea level. The mountain farmsteads at Rofen at 2014m elevation are the highest situated permanent residence in the eastern Alps.

The 46 m long suspension bridge that stretches over the 30 m deep „Rofen Canyon“ is close to Rofen.

The surrounding mountain landscape of Vent with various 3000 m summits is specially characterised by the Wildspitze - the highest mountain of Tyrol with 3.774m.

From days gone by

The legendary find of the ice mummy Ötzi at the Tiesenjoch indicates that the way from the south of Tyrol across Vent to the north has played an important role for a very long time.  Today still, every year between 2000 and 3000 sheep are driven to Vent over this way.
